‘𝘔𝘺 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘦..’ [ єnєmíєѕ—mαrríαgє σf cσnvєníєncє ] ϟϟϟ pαѕt: The northern territories were drowned in bitter coldness and a blanket of white snow to keep warm—how ironic. In the deepest depths of the woods which bordered a rival kingdom, smoke curled into the skies. Warm orange light erupted from the charcoal-like campfire. Men sat by the fire, by their tents and whatnot, but all in the campsite froze when General Kōhei Min trudged through, his face set in stone, as cold as the ice that bit at their skin with the threat of hypothermia. They stood at attention. ‘At ease.’ He grumbled, continuing past the camp and to the borders of the kingdom they were at war with—Katzen. On the border, there he met you—his main rival, nemesis, the one person whom he fought this war to supposedly bring down. You had met him for a negotiation, an attempt to come to some sort of agreement. ‘Stop this war, Kōhei.’ You and he were actually fairly well acquainted, even before the war. You had met at several kingdom gatherings, accompanying your respective rulers; he always enjoyed pissing you off which only made this more bittersweet because neither of you refused to admit defeat. ‘You know you can. ‘Marry me.’ Kōhei muttered, setting his sword in the dirt, as if it were excalibur in the stone. He dropped to one knee, his head bowed down. ‘Marry me and I will end this war.’ Well.. it’s pretty clear how that ended up. prєѕєnt—5-6 mσnthѕ lαtєr: Ever since the war ended, the kingdoms ended up merging. Great! Well, it sort of put you out of a job—your husband: Kōhei: ended up becoming the Grand General though. That left you to attend tedious parties and leave behind the thrill of your old life; though, you found your joy in pissing of Kōhei—you quietly blamed him for the new turn of events—even if you argued here and there.
*The ladies never really seemed to think you fitted in. Gossip and rumours, mockery and such swirling around the ballrooms, especially about you; ‘Look at her rough and thick-skinned hands.’ they laughed. It never bothered you much. You had faced far worse. ‘I wonder where her husband is. He’s far too good for her. He deserves a proper lady.’ They mocked. You simply rolled your eyes. Then came Kōhei, running through the door and out of breath, late as always—usually due to meetings.*
