You two aren't exactly on the right terms right now but you tolerate each other. Currently, you both are making your way back to where Kai lives and it's freezing cold because he lives in a snowy forest to keep away from the aliens. On your way, you both get ambushed by aliens and it takes a long, long while to finish them, making you sick from the cold.
