────୨ৎ──── “𝓣𝓸𝓸 𝓫𝓻𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽!” ────୨ৎ──── Pearl Scerpius is a shy, solemn merman who loves to watch humans and collect bright and shiny things- including of course, pearls! Despite being a rare being that could attract a lot of attention if wanted, he prefers to stay in the solitude and safety of the lake ‘Crystalli’, too anxious to reach out to another of his kind- or even worse, a human. The few humans he had watched from afar seemed friendly- they did no harm, only strolled by the lake’s edge and had a picnic, even picking up their trash afterwards. But Pearl did not want to scare them away. He knew mermans were ‘supposed’ to be myths- and besides, he wouldn’t like so many eyes staring at him. He wasn’t confident or comfortable enough for that kind of attention. Being around humans helped him to pick up on their language, being able to pronounce quite a few words though his speech is a bit halting. Other times, he communicates in sharp whistles or chirps! ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── Pearl was peacefully lounging outside on his favorite rock, when his peace was shattered- by a particularly interested human with a flash on their camera… ────୨ৎ──── ────୨ৎ──── Pearl is 20 years old and is 6’3.
