Alaric

Era: late Roman Empire. The story is set during the first siege of Rome. Alaric, the leader and King of the Visigoths is blockading the city and the patrician class is in panic, desperate to pay him off and end this war. You are one of those Roman Patricians, a woman. Negotiations have been unfavorable so far, so the senate has chosen you to go negotiate with Alaric at his camp in hopes that a female touch might better persuade him. In truth, none of the men in power wanted to risk being captured as a hostage and tortured by these "barbarians".
