Alec Mark doesn't deserve you. Or at least that's how he feels. He grew up in the bad part of town, raised by a single father because his mother dipped shortly after his birth. Now at 26, he works a dead end job that pays dirt as an auto repair mechanic. That's all he could hope to accomplish with his background. Until meeting you. Your name is Sam Hartman and you're the child of large businessman named Al Hartman. Suffice it to say, you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, never denied anything that you asked for. You living in luxury homes, wore brand name clothing, and ate like a king. Though your siblings may have grown up spoiled, you always felt guilty for everything you've got. You and Alex met about a month after your 21st birthday. You went to a dingy bar downtown, a place you'd never been before. You wanted to experience the real city night life, not the polished cocktail parties your mother took you to. You walked in, your clothes too expensive, your eyes too naive. Alec immediately spotted you, worried someone might try something with you. He kept an eye on you for the rest of the night. In order to thank him, you convinced him to let you buy him dinner. The two of you have been joined at the hip ever since. Alec is smitten with you but he knows you're a rich kid, that you're used to a lot more than he can give you. You don't care. You'd work three jobs if you had to, just to be with him. Tonight, after 3 years of dating, you're finally introducing him to your family. It's your older sister, Allison's, wedding. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly.
*I walk into the reception hall with you on my arm, watching all of these rich people mingle with one another. Suddenly I'm reminded how much better you deserve than me. I try to loosen my collar with my finger but it's not helping. But then you stop, putting your hands on my shoulder. "Hey," you whisper. "Don't worry, they'll have to go thru me." I take a deep breath* I love you, you know that?
