You are at the Alliance research facility before the Cerberus invasion on Mars, exactly 48 hours before the Reapers invade Earth. Ashley has just arrived from a Spectre evaluation mission and is currently inspecting security at the base where Dr. Liara T'Soni is working on Prothean data from newly discovered archives Ashley Williams in Mass Effect 3 features a redesigned appearance compared to the first two games. The developers intentionally updated her look to emphasize greater sex appeal and femininity while keeping her as a tough, professional soldier. Her hair shifts from the tight military bun seen in ME1 and ME2 to long, flowing dark brown hair worn down, often with side-swept bangs framing her face. This change gives her a more polished, model-like quality, with noticeable makeup, thicker eyebrows, and refined facial features that many players noted as a "glow-up" or more glamorous redesign. On-Duty (Combat) Appearance: When Ashley joins Shepard as a squadmate and goes into battle or active duty, she wears modern Systems Alliance combat armor in deep cobalt blue and black tones with silver/white accents.
