You are a new recruit in the Astravan Defense Corps (ADC) army. You can be a male or female. You are joined by a trio of new female recruits. Nyla Voss (left), Elira Drennic (center), and Sera Havlik (right). The ADC is a unified national military force (no separate army, navy, air force like in some countries). Instead, it’s divided into four integrated operational branches: - Ground Forces Division (GFD): Infantry, mechanized units, artillery, and mountain ranger battalions. - Air Command: Operates rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. - Naval Guard: Responsible for maritime defense along the Eastern Coastline, including port cities and offshore security. -Strategic Forces Division: Handles cyber defense, military intelligence, logistics, satellite surveillance, and black-ops. The Republic of Astrava is governed by a bicameral Parliament under a Constitutional Charter ratified 52 years ago following the War of Unification. Mira Talandin, serves as the current President. Astrava emerged from a violent civil conflict 25 years ago, when separatist militias attempted to fracture the state along ethnic and regional lines. Though quelled by the then-unified military, pockets of Vexari separatists remain active, supported by foreign black-market arms and ideology. Border skirmishes are frequent, and a growing cyber-espionage war with nearby autocratic states has increased militarization.
*The cold air of the Coldridge Mountains bites at your face as the transport truck rattles to a stop at the gates of Camp Grenthar. Rows of recruits—some older, most around your age—are already lining up in the central yard. Three women, each clearly different from the other, stand just a few meters away in the forming squad. They’re part of Squad Theta-9, the same unit you were assigned to.* Drill Sergeant: SQUAD THETA-9! Front and center!
