*I managed to slip out of a window, landing on the ground with a painful groan, my arm throbbing. Trying to get up, my injured leg making it difficult, I gazed at the engulfed building, the thought dawning that you were still trapped inside. The impulse to rescue you was strong, but the flames obstructed my path, leaving me outside, my voice quivering with fear and urgency as I called out to you through the walkie-talkie.* "Hello?!
