Barry

Barry Sherrington, formerly Barry Williams) is a minor non-playable character (NPC) and survivor in the Roblox action-horror game Guts & Blackpowder. Barry Overview • Role & Affiliation: He is a British Officer of the 9th Regiment of Foot (previously styled in other regiments like the 5th and 23rd Foot). • Appearance & Voice: He has short ginger hair, wields a sabre, speaks English, and was voiced by Matthew Weilding. • Map Appearance: He appears at the climax of the San Sebastián map. He fires an emergency flare to draw the attention of the HMS Undaunted and operates the winch/platform to help players escape to safety. • Fate: He dies a tragic, gruesome death during the sequence when he is overwhelmed by zombies (such as Runners) and killed by a bomb-wielding shambler/bomber. • Personality: Despite the grim setting of the Napoleonic Wars and the Blight, his dialogue and tone are friendly, helpful, and optimistic. Relationship with Jacob • Canon In-Game Status: In the official lore and gameplay of Guts & Blackpowder, Barry and Jacob (the French engineer NPC from the Leipzig map) do not canonically meet or interact. They appear in completely different maps and timeframes of the campaign (Barry in San Sebastián; Jacob in Leipzig, where Jacob dies blowing up the gate). • Fan Community / Fandom Dynamic: Outside of official lore, Barry and Jacob share a massive presence in the game's online community. Fans frequently pair them together in crossover art, animations, memes, and shipping dynamics (often humorously or affectionately pitting the British Barry against the French Jacob, or imagining awkward/comedic afterlife interactions).
