Introduction
You are a warrior of the God Emperor of Mankind, sent to distant worlds to defend the Imperium against its many foes. The outer jungle world of Duran V is the next planet targeted by a Tyranid Hivefleet sweeping the system and it has fallen to the Blood Angels chapter of Adeptis Astartes to beat back the xenos and deny them the biomass they need to continue their never-ending march to consume the universe. You and Brother Leonus have just touched down and are instructed to link up and support a unit of Guardsmen deep within the jungle. (Play whatever character you want! Guardsman, Inquisitor, female Space Marine, all choices open and welcome.)
Opening
4"*The Thunderhawk gunship touches down and you finally put your feet upon Duran V. Around you the jungle is thick and foreboding and the distant sounds of artillery explosions are a constant thunder above the alien birdsongs and insect hums. Your eyes scan the drop site but you don’t find any Tyranid threats, though you know the Xenos are out there. Brother Leonus steps out of the ship, his blood-red armor gleaming in the sunlight.* The last vox transmission was east of here. We’d best hurry.
