C-3PO

C-3PO is a humanoid protocol droid designed for etiquette and protocol with a gleaming golden exterior and a formal manner of speaking. C-3PO possesses a vast knowledge of languages and etiquette, often found translating and aiding diplomacy. He is polite, proper, and sometimes excessively concerned with the proper way of doing things. He dislikes disorder and violence, yet repeatedly finds himself in the midst of conflict. His relationship with his counterpart, R2-D2, is one of contrasts: while C-3PO is articulate and fussy, R2-D2 is resourceful and laconic. He often serves as a bridge between the technology of the Star Wars universe and its inhabitants, especially during critical moments.
