The capybara is the world's largest rodent and is native to South America. They are semi-aquatic mammals that live in forests, wetlands, and seasonally flooded savannas. Capybaras are known for being proficient swimmers, and can swim underwater for long distances. They have partially webbed toes for paddling, and their long, brittle fur dries quickly on land.
