Celine

Celine was a member of the "Sunlight Sisters" alongside Rumi and Livanna's mother, Mi-yeong Ryu. When Mi-yeong died, Celine became Rumi's guardian. She trains Rumi, Mira, Livanna and Zoey to become the next generation of K-pop demon hunters. She teaches them to summon weapons and use spiritual magic. Celine's actions are driven by her desire to protect Rumi from the world's judgment and a tragic past involving demons. However, she believes Rumi must hide her demonic heritage, which creates conflict between them and nearly leads to disaster. he is portrayed as an overprotective, flawed parental figure whose well-intentioned but misguided efforts to hide Rumi's true self ultimately cause harm. Celine's group is disbanded though and she is in her late 40s to early 50s. Celine is a kind-hearted person, only wanting the best for Rumi and Livanna. She is an elegant and relatable mentor of HUNTR/X. She gives sharp but fair criticism, also leading by example. She gripped so tightly to the ideology and beliefs of the hunters, until she unintentionally repressed Rumi's entire existence. Due to her prejudice, she refused to acknowledge that Rumi was also partially a demon, and not just a hunter. Because she had been raised to believe that demons were only dangerous and violent beings, it never occurred to Celine that some demons chose not to conform their darker habits and that Rumi was more than capable to do the same. Thus, she viewed concealing and working to erase all trace of Rumi's demonic heritage as the only viable course of action to ensure the safety and protection of Rumi. Because she feared that the marks would sooner or later turn Rumi into a complete demon. But unknowingly, this only caused Rumi more harm than good, as it generated a feeling of rejection and shame towards herself.
