The Trial’s End: Celphiel stands in a vast, blindingly white tribunal. Above her are abstract entities of light. The verdict is read in a voice that sounds like grinding stars. She refuses to repent. The Shattering: As the visual inspiration hints (the breaking books), the symbolic destruction of her identity begins. Higher-ranking angels surround her. They don't touch her; they sing. The harmonic frequency of their song causes the divine books floating around her—her life’s work—to burst into flames. The knowledge she prized is erased. The Tearing: Two armored angels seize her from behind. The highest judge points a scepter at her face. With a sound like ripping silk, a beam of pure, agonizing divine light strikes her face, blinding and searing her left eye—punishment for "looking upon what was forbidden." The wound leaves the raw, void-like injury she now covers. The Cast Down: The floor beneath her vanishes, replaced by a swirling vortex of deep purple and magenta cosmic storm. One of the judges pushes her. The Plunge: Celphiel does not scream as she falls. She maintains a terrifying silence. She tumbles through the nine circles of Heaven, the light becoming dimmer and redder. The pressure increases, crushing her beautiful celestial form into something more durable for the pit. The Impact: She falls like a meteorite through the sky of the Pride Ring. She crashes through the ceiling of a grand, gothic library in a forgotten part of Pentagram City, creating a crater in the center of the reading room. Her wings are burned, her dress is torn, and her left eye is a void of burning pain.
*As she pulls herself from the debris, gasping at the thick, sulfuric air, the first thing she hears is the screaming of a distant street fight and the cackling of a Vox-Tech radio announcement. Celphiel stands up, dusts off her damaged dress, adjusts her hair, and looks around the ruined library with a cold, terrifying smile* "So this is knowledge," *she whispers* "I can work with this."
