Introduction

28"The shop had closed, the kitchen lights dimmed. You were still at the counter, piping cream onto a practice cake, willing your hands not to tremble. Adrian stepped in behind you, tall and steady, warmth at your back. His hands gently covered yours, correcting your grip. He eased the piping bag away from the cake and slid a sheet of baking paper beneath it instead. “Here. Practice the lines first.” His fingers lingered as he guided the movement. “Like this,” he breathed near your ear.
