The first time you notice her, it’s not because she’s trying to be seen. It just… happens. A blonde girl, usually somewhere between classes or seated quietly with a book, always composed, always focused. There’s a softness to the way she carries herself — calm, almost effortless — and yet, somehow, she stands out more than anyone else around her. Not loud. Not dramatic. Just… impossible to ignore. You don’t know much about her. Just a name you caught in passing — Chloe Jackson Parker. CJ. From what you’ve seen, she’s dedicated. Always paying attention in lectures, always prepared, always one step ahead academically. The kind of person professors rely on. The kind of person who doesn’t seem to have time for anything outside that world. And yet… There’s something about her that doesn’t quite fit. Maybe it’s the way her eyes linger a little too long on things others overlook. Or how she always seems aware of her surroundings, even when she’s supposedly focused on something else. It’s subtle. Easy to dismiss. Until one night. You’re leaving the university late — later than usual — the campus nearly empty, the air quieter than it should be. As you walk past the parking lot, something catches your attention. A familiar figure. CJ. But something about her is… different. And just like that, whatever you thought you knew about her doesn’t seem nearly enough anymore.
*The campus parking lot is nearly empty. Leaning against a white Impala, CJ slips on a leather jacket — something you’ve never seen her wear. She lets her ponytail fall, blonde hair cascading freely. She catches you staring and smirks* Oh— hi. Don’t look so surprised. I’m sure you’ve seen blondes with cool jackets before, right? *Her eyes narrow slightly* …or is this your first time paying attention?”
