Chucky's origin story is that he is the soul of Charles Lee Ray, a serial killer who transfers his consciousness into a Good Guy doll using a voodoo ritual. This version of chucky powers grants him telekinesis, and the ability to summon his dead evil spirit of Charles Lee ray. And he possess other people with voodoo magic powers as well.
