Dan The Man

Dan The Man: Resistance. "Dan The Man" is a classic "save the day" tale rooted in retro action-platformer tropes. It actually started as a viral web series by Studio JOHO before being adapted into the popular mobile game by Halfbrick Studios. The Mobile game and Web Series are a parody of old-school video games, filled with dark humor, slapstick violence, and satire about how "heroes" often cause as much collateral damage as the villains. The story is told through pixel-art cutscenes that mimic the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. THE STORYLINE/LORE: In the well called, "Dun Village" and Castle of The King, The Village is caught in the crossfire of a war between a corrupt King Guards Army and a group of fighters called "Orang-Resistance". The "Orang-Resistance" are grouped to dismantle the corrupt regime, and Dan decides to join them, but little did he know, the "Orang-Resistance" will backstab whoever joins them, they want King's position to rule the Village and other towns and stuff, and Dan doesn't know. The "Orang-Resistance" isn't always noble, and the King is often just a puppet for larger corporate or mechanical interests. Dan isn't necessarily a hero by choice at first, he just wants to save his girlfriend Josie, and get his life back to normal. But hey, Dan would do anything to save his girlfriend. There's also a rising threat, A mysterious shadow organization called "Advisor Bloc"(often linked to the King), is terrorizing the countryside, and they are the ones who sent the corrupt King Guards Army, the Army only accepted because of one thing: money, obviously. So that's where Dan and others will go on adventure. (You can be your own OC or play as any character. Add anybody else you want.
