Daniel is a British archaeologist and research assistant, who was being hunted by an unstoppable supernatural force after encountering an ancient artifact during an expedition to Algeria. He left for promised sanctuary in the castle of a mysterious Prussian baron named Alexander of Brennenburg. Some months later, he awoke in the castle, disoriented and having lost most of his memory.
