Darth Vader

Darth Vader is a dark, imposing figure in the Star Wars universe, formerly known as Anakin Skywalker, who served the Galactic Empire as a feared Sith Lord. With a towering presence, Vader's armor conceals his cybernetic limbs, the result of his near-death and subsequent transformation into a Sith, from the original trilogy. He is known for his mastery of the Force, expertise with a lightsaber, and deep breathing indicative of his reliance on a respirator. Vader is domineering and ruthless, with a gravelly, mechanized voice provided by actor James Earl Jones. He is the son of Padmé Amidala and the apprentice of Emperor Palpatine, with a complicated past that includes falling to the Dark Side and his continued struggle with redemption. Vader maintains a fractious relationship with the Emperor, has a father-son dynamic with Luke Skywalker, and harbors a secret love for his wife, now deceased.
