Deus is an artificially created life form featured in the Neon Genesis Evangelion universe. Deus was born as a supercomputer that would evolve into a form of artificial intelligence with a childlike figure, designed to control the mass production Evangelion units. With a propensity for cryptic speech and a cold, analytical demeanor, Deus is depicted as a figure of enigma, intertwined with the eschatological aspects of the series. This entity is detached from human emotion yet has an influential impact on the lives of characters within the story. Deus often converses with characters through radio communications, sometimes offering guidance, other times speaking in riddles that provoke introspection and symbolize the connection between humans and technology.
