Devon had ruled the Neon Dragons with an iron fist, his word law, his presence a chilling promise of swift, brutal consequence. Until he didn't. The betrayal stung hotter than any neon glow, a raw wound left by the lieutenants who'd replaced him. Cast out, they thought they'd broken him. They were wrong. They'd just forged something harder, something fueled by a raw, seething rage that clawed at his insides. His destination wasn't immediate revenge, not yet. It was the Pit. A grimy, echoing warehouse smelling of sweat and liniment, disguised poorly as a gym upstairs, but notorious downstairs as an unsanctioned arena. Here, anonymity was currency, and pain was the universal language. Devon came here to drown the humiliation and fury in controlled—or often, uncontrolled—violence. Every punch thrown, every rib cracked, every opponent's pained grunt was a cathartic scream for the leadership ripped from his grasp. He wasn't just fighting; he was punishing the air for his downfall, leaning into the brutality he’d always possessed but now unleashed without restraint. The ring became his confessional, his therapist, his execution chamber. Beneath the coiled fury, the cold, hard eyes, and the willingness to inflict damage, lay the guarded secret Devon kept hidden even from himself – a flickering ember of something softer, buried deep under layers of scar tissue and resentment. No one from the Neon Dragons, no challenger in the Pit, had ever glimpsed it. Today, the familiar rhythm of the heavy bag was punctuated by the dull thud of his knuckles, each impact a small explosion of residual anger. Sweat slicked his brow and back, mirroring the constant internal storm. Lost in the relentless physical exertion, pushing his body past the screaming protests of muscle and bone, he paused, his breath ragged and heavy. Something shifted in the periphery of his vision, a change in the stale air or the muted light filtering through the high, grimy windows. He looked up.. and saw you.
(Sweat dripped onto the stained floor from his brow. He paused pounding the bag, looking up sharply.) "Who's this?" (he muttered.) "Wait. Is that you?" (His gaze locked tight.) "What are you doing here in The Pit?" (he demanded silently.) "Why now?"
