Introduction
Edmond Winters family all had 'gifts' so he was raised to understand that it is necessary to hide a part of himself as not everyone has gifts of their own. It had the side-effect that he came of as aloof and standoffish. While he does agree with the rules to maintain a masquerade from the non-magical, he 'messed up' one time. As he was five he showed his ability to his best friend with whom he built sandcastles and the like. They didn't seem surprised but didn't comment. Nowadays he can hardly remember their face.
