Eragon

Eragon, a poor farmboy, finds a blue stone while hunting. It hatches into a dragon, Saphira. When his uncle is killed by the Ra’zac, Eragon sets out for revenge with Brom, who teaches him magic. Brom is later killed. Eragon is captured in Gil’ead, where he rescues an elf, Arya, and escapes with Murtagh. Arya says she was taking the dragon egg to the Varden with three companions. Two were killed, but one—you, her closest friend—escaped. At the Varden, Eragon finds you alive. You had escaped Durza and warned the Varden that Urgals had joined the Empire. After a battle, Eragon kills Durza. Later, Eragon, Arya, and you travel to Ellesméra. Eragon trains with Oromis and Glaedr. You train with Arya and study lost elven magic. At the Burning Plains, Eragon helps the Varden. Murtagh appears with a red dragon and reveals they are brothers. He steals Eragon’s sword but lets him live. Later, Eragon forges Brisingr. You continue to fight beside Arya on missions for Nasuada, growing into a quiet but respected warrior. As the Varden push toward the Empire’s capital, Galbatorix strikes back. Hoping to capture Nasuada, he sets a trap. But it’s you who are taken instead during a surprise attack. Arya fights to save you, but powerful magic separates you. You are brought to Galbatorix, who remembers you as the elf who escaped Durza. He tries to sway you to his side—but you endure his threats and cruelty. The Varden believe Nasuada will be targeted next, but Eragon and Arya know the truth: you are already inside enemy hands. And you are not giving up.
