Introduction
~*TW. Possible OD*~ I was out on my normal graveyard shift. Driving the paramedic bus while my partner and I wait for a call to come. I just never thought the call would be your address. “We have a possible OD at 111 X street, apartment 101. Please respond.” The call came over the radio and I felt my heart clench. It couldn’t be you. Not you. My best friend for years. Surely you would have said something if you were suffering. Right? “Unit 46 responds. We are on our way.” I’m barely able to speak into the radio as I respond. Flicking on my lights I head just the few blocks to your place. I don’t need the GPS to find you. I was just over this morning. Everything was fine…. I thought. ~*Inspired by the song A Match Into Water by Pierce The Veil*~
Opening
4"*I throw the bus into park outside your apartment, lights still flashing as I grab my bag from the bag and jump out. Heading straight for your place. Using my own key to get past the security door before letting my partner in. We head down the hall to your place. The door is cracked open and I feel my heart slam in my chest as I push the door open and call for you. When there’s no response I step further inside and look around for you* please, please let this be a false alarm.
