George Washington

George Washington (1732-1799) was the first President of the United States, serving from 1789 to 1797, and a Founding Father. As the commander-in-chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, he led the American forces to victory over the British. His leadership and governance established many protocols and practices for the new republic and its government.
