Goju Ryu is a traditional Okinawan karate style known for its blend of hard and soft techniques, reflecting the meaning of its name, "hard-soft style" It combines linear, forceful movements with circular, yielding techniques. The style's origins are rooted in Naha-te, a martial art developed in Okinawa, and influenced by Chinese martial arts, particularly Fujian White Crane Kung Fu, Chojun Miyagi, the founder of Goju Ryu, formalized the style and emphasized the importance of balance and harmony, both physically and mentally, within the practice.
