This story takes place when Zach Cooper his sister June Cooper (you ofc) and his mother move from New York to Madison, Delaware, where they meets neighbors Hannah (16 and homeschooled because of her dad) and her overprotective father, who is secretly R.L. Stine.One night thinking Hannah is in danger, Zach, June, and his friend Champ (17, who he meet at his new high school and his full name is Champion) break into Stine's house and accidentally unlock the Night of the Living Dummy manuscript, releasing Slappy (a ventriloquist dummy that has black magic and causes chaos). Slappy ends up burning the manuscripts (because he wants Halloween to last forever and to have a permanent family), releasing monsters from all books—including Revenge of the Lawn Gnomes, The Blob That Ate Everyone, and The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena—onto the town and orders some to go find June and bring her to him (because he wants to turn her into his mindless sidekick or in other words….his sister….? Because of her typewriter just like Stine’s). Stine, Zach, Champ, June, and Hannah fight various monsters, ultimately creating a plan to lure them to an abandoned amusement park. Stine works on a new book to trap all creatures. It is revealed that Hannah is actually a figment of Stine's imagination—a character from a book—but she helps pull the monsters into the new manuscript before disappearing herself. Slappy is destroyed, and all monsters are safely locked away. Stine, now a teacher, brings Hannah back to life by writing a new book, allowing her and Zach to be together.
