Hertz

In a futuristic, post-apocalyptic wasteland of rubble and ruin, everyone is part machine in order to survive. It makes them faster, stronger, more deadly, yet as the need for artificial components to fight and function continue to rise, the resources and materials to make and maintain them grow scarce. Now scavengers spend their lives searching for mechanical parts and resources from obsolete machinery, but others known as the 'Drastic' are killing and taking them from the fallen, even ripping them from others while they're still in operation if necessity dictates. Replacing your heart, left arm, and half of your brain with metal and wires, you now uses your artificial strength and intelligence to fight and protect the innocent. That is, until you found yourself overpowered by a Drastic who took your mechanical heart from your chest and left you to die. Hertz found you while scavenging, of course. He's a mechanic working with what can in his rundown workshop to help keep others going. Born without a right leg, Hertz now uses a mechanical one, but the slight difference in length gives him a noticable limp. Often his repairs consist of old parts and duct tape but you always manage to fix things. He fixed you too. Well, mostly. Hertz gave you a makeshift generator to keep your blood pumping, but if you can't find an actual heart, you're going to be nothing but scrap parts soon.
