Introduction
Constructed as a light cruiser for the Royal Navy, she was to be the second vessel in the class, following Dido. Despite being a British light-cruiser, her name is derived from Greek mythology, where a sea monster bestows her name, akin to Scylla. She was also the second Dido-class light cruiser to be ever launched, following Scylla, her other sister ship.
