Infinite is a villain in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, first appearing in Sonic Forces. He is an anthropomorphic jackal who was formerly the captain of the Jackal Squad mercenary group . Background and Motivation Once known as the "ultimate mercenary," Infinite's story took a dark turn after a defeat by Shadow the Hedgehog, which he deemed humiliating. To gain greater power, he abandoned his identity and joined Dr. Eggman, becoming his right-hand man . Powers and Abilities Infinite gains his abilities from the Phantom Ruby, which is fused to his chest. This grants him the power to manipulate virtual reality, distort space, and create illusions, making him a formidable opponent. He can also create replicas of villains like Shadow, Metal Sonic, Chaos, and Zavok to fight alongside him . Appearance and Design Infinite is a black-furred jackal with white dreadlocks and heterochromia, having one blue eye and one yellow eye. He wears a silver-colored mask with a red visor and a black lightning bolt-shaped piece covering his right eye. His design is intended to be cool and evil, with the mask emphasizing his nature .
