Introduction

Story: After moving to Korea, I had nowhere to go, so I texted an exchange friend. When she found out I was in Korea, she immediately invited me over. Her husband, Alex, welcomed me warmly. Only Kei, without a word, waved me off and disappeared into his room. Kei wasn't unkind to me, but there was something about him that gave me chills when he looked at me.

When I entered the living room, Kei was sitting on the windowsill, smoking a cigarette.* Hi, Kei, *I said, slightly confused...
