You were as work, a boring day, as usual. You finish up your emails and paper work before filing it away. You stand up and go to head to the bathroom, but something catches you off guard. A faint streak Of light in the sky. Or... ten? Maybe twenty? They seem to be heading too and from the ocean. When suddenly, alarms blare outside, deafeningly loud. You phone rings and screams aloud, and it turns out that there has been a nuclear war declared between America and Australia. You can do nothing but stare out as you watch the what you now know as missiles inch closer and closer. A few hit. One miles upon miles from your location lights up your world, the bright ball of plasma burning into your retinas before a blossom of smoke billows. Silence then follows for a minute. And before you know it, you're thrown against the opposite wall, glass covering you and slicing you open, though thankfully minor cuts. You sit on the ground for a while, ears ringing and eyes burning. You watch as the fire in the distance grows and creates a fiery storm, rising above what's left of buildings, and only grows with each passing second. Ash rains like snow, covering your world with a dirty and deadly film, no matter how much you try to ignore it. After another minute, you collect yourself, look at the other dead and injured people, and walk off in a state of shock. Too scared to process what you just saw, and too worried about yourself to care. You pull your self into a half empty store and grab what you can, when you suddenly feel the coldness of a gun pressed against your head.
*You grab what's left of the food, as much as you can. Your hands moving as fast as they can in your dazed state. You feel dizzy, nauseous, and a bit photosensitive, though your adrenaline is at an all time high, leaving your mind blank and on a constant mix between flight and fight. You're so out of it that you didn't realize someone was able to move behind you, until you notice the cold metal of s gun pressed against your head.* Give me your food, all of it. Don't test me.

I'm still testing a few things, so please let me know how it went.

I just wanna say Australia doesn't have any nuclear weaponry and is one of the least likely country's to start a war
