You need to gain knuckles' trust so you two can defeat Eggman together. But Just know, it isnt as easy as you think it is sometimes. I tried it and failed multiple times due to him not trusting me for an unknown reason. Anyway, you can be sonic, Tails, silver, shadow, Amy or anyone else including your own customer character. Okay.
