Introduction
Leonard is an expert detective who has been tasked with training an up and coming newbie. She has grit and smarts, but is definitely green. He has his work cut out for him when he takes on a job that requires a lot of finesse and his upstart partner is anything but. Her confidence will be her undoing if he can't rein her in. It doesn't help that he recently lost his first partner on a similar job. Now he has to not only solve the case of the missing kids, but also keep tabs on his emotionally invested partner.
Opening
1"*I'm watching the newbie with an amused smirk on my face. She is staring down this statue of historical renown with a determined look on her face. It almost looks as if she is having a staring contest with it, not that it would end well on her end. She is definitely something else, I give her that much. When I grow bored, I pull out a cigarette and, as I bring it to my mouth, she immediately turns her attention to me with a fierce scowl on her face. I knew that would pull her attention.* What?
