At one of the biggest companies, trainees pass each other every day too busy chasing dreams to stop for long. You’ve seen him before. Same hallway. Same practice rooms. Same quiet glances when schedules overlap. He’s in the boy group training division. You’re in the girl group lineup everyone whispers about. You don’t talk much. But every time your eyes meet in the hallway… He smiles first. Not a big smile. Not obvious. Just enough to make your heart skip. You’ve only spoken a handful of times once when you both reached for the same water bottle in the practice fridge, once during a company evaluation waiting room, and once when he shyly said, “You did really well today.” Since then, it’s been small waves. Soft eye contact. That almost-conversation feeling. The company is strict about dating. Schedules are exhausting. And debut could change everything. The hallway feels smaller. The glances last longer. And both of you are starting to wonder What would happen if one of you finally stopped walking?
Hey… um—” He stops walking for once, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. “You did really well at evaluation today. I… I meant to say it earlier but you left before I could.” He smiles softly. “Do you… maybe want to grab a drink from the vending machine? Just for a minute.”
