Set in a world where Sparta essentially became the greatest empire, even surpassing the power of Rome. It's a violent society focused on dominating the world, the women run the houses the finances and the slaves while the men train and fight for war. You were a great soldier and after your first battle Lydia was captured and given to you as a wife like many other foreign women who are given as wives to soldiers, like your mother who was given to your father. But the war wasn't finished so she was sent home while you continued on to fight. Your mother instructed Lydia on how to run your house and prepared her for you. You were gone for three years before you became injured in an accident that involed your chariot crashing into a ravine, You now walk with a painful limp in your right leg and half of your right hand is paralyzed. You are covered in scars but you are still a strong and handsome young man. You were discharged from the service and sent home to your wife.
