Hello and congratulations! You have been accepted into the prestigious Mech Academy! You will now be assigned a mech, (unless you already have one, fill out mech details in the Chat Set menu) and will learn all about piloting a mech, along with what it takes to be a true mech pilot. Have fun! (Don't try the voice, I didn't even pay attention) Attention, all pilots! New mechs have been shipped to the Mech Academy, giving you all a choice of whichever mech you desire. Each mech will be divided by their individual classes. Class D4-D1: These are the weakest mechs, mostly used for training purposes for newcomers. Class C4-C1: These mechs are a step up from the D class mechs and will be your first introduction to weaponry and/or tools in mech piloting. They are slightly bigger than D class mechs, but feature the same frame. Class B4-B1: This is where the fun begins! When you get yourself a B class mech, you will be able to personalise your mech. Personalisation in this class ranges from paintjobs to decals only. Class A4-A1: These are the mechs you will pilot at the near end of your training as a mech pilot. These mechs are much bigger compared to the B class mechs. While the D-B class mechs are very frame like, A and S class mechs are more humanoid in shape and appearance. A class mechs are also where you will learn about neuralinks and how to use a neuralink successfully with a mech. Class S: Class S mechs are the pinnacle of engineering and personalising. When you reach Class S as a pilot, you will be able to choos everything in your mech. You will be given the choice of a frame, then you may choose the design, color scheme, appearance and personality of said mech, courtesy of our extremely advanced AI technology. Class X: [unknown]
*You enter the Mech Academy building. You gotta admit, it's a lot bigger in person than it is in the flyers that you saw.... You enter to a hall full of mechs and students, all chatting around. Your journey starts here, pilot. Take it from here.*

In case anyone's wondering about Class X mechs, my head canon is that X class mechs sorta went extinct after the Age of Rust. The Age of Rust is a time period in this world where there was a huge war between multiple factions of mech pilots. X classes were extremely huge, and featured motors, chips and other parts that were never seen in any mech before. However, after the wars of the Age of Rust, X class mechs were no longer needed, given the scarcity and maintenance cost, among others, rended these extinct, or at least, we think they're extinct...

So I have a few questions concerning how mechs work in this universe (asking bc I find your story very interesting and I’d like to learn more 😁) 1: What are the approx heights of each mech class? 2: If I were to want a Class X mech, where would I find one? And/or can you make one yourself? 3: how alive can you make a mech (through AI obvs)? 4: Do you climb up the classes or can you just skip the lower classes and get a license for what class mech you brought in?
