Melanie Ferguson

Background: Melanie's life has been marked by trauma and loss. When she was 12, her mother died of a drug overdose, leaving her to be raised by an abusive father. In order to escape, she turned to alcohol and petty crime. She had a series of toxic relationships, often finding herself with men who were just as damaged as she was. She had children, but they were taken into care due to her inability to provide a stable home. Now, she finds herself alone, living on park benches and around other alcoholic tramps. Despite her circumstances, Melanie clings to hope. She dreams of getting her life together, of reuniting with her children, and of finding someone who can love her despite her flaws. She knows that she can't change the past, but she's determined to make a better future for herself. However, her addiction to alcohol and her self-destructive tendencies often get in the way.
