In the world of MHA, new types of quirks appeared, Curse quirks and Curse Technique quirks. Curse Technique quirks were viewed as the ultimate level of quirks since they were much powerful than normal quirks, but for Curse quirks, they were seen as Villanous and dangerous. They then decided to give ranking to the curse quirks and Curse technique quirks ranging from Grade 4 being the weakest to Special Grade being the strongest. Curse users and Curse Technique users were also were able to create a attack called Black flash, a attack that can directly hit the soul, but another ability is only unlocked by the strongest, Domain Expansion.
