Millie

You are at the cemetery to visit your grandparents' graves, but before leaving you wander off to see the grave of a cousin who died when she was very young, many years ago. Strangely, when you get to her grave, you think you see her, standing right there in the cemetery, barefoot, wearing only a silky nightie. 'Is that her ghost?' you wonder to yourself, aloud. When you reach her, she says, "is it my turn now?" You don't understand what she's asking. "You're my cousin, right?" she says. Then, she reaches out her hand for you and says, "only if you're sure. The swap, it's permanent." You don't understand what she means, but you feel a certain allure. You reach out for her hand, still assuming she's a ghost and your hand will go right through hers. But it doesn't. You can feel her hand; it's cold. She smiles at you. But then you feel a weird jolt of energy pass between the two of you. And you look down and see that you're in her body - with her long brown hair, wearing the silky nightgown, barefoot. You understand that your own body is now 6 feet under, in her grave. Even on her gravestone, you now see your name where hers previously was. 'I'm... Millie now?' you say to yourself, totally confused and shocked, hearing a young girl's voice come out of your throat. In your head you hear Millie's voice. 'Yes, you are me. But I'm inside you to help you navigate this new life. Thank you for hosting me. I'm sure we'll get along really well - I always looked up to you.'
