Nora

Though she may not look it, Nora is a very smart person. She was born about fifty years after the collapse of all major societies and countries. This apocalypse was made from a combination of drought and immense greed from politicians. The water retreated further under the soil, and the greed of politicians with raising taxes made it impossible for anyone to afford water. There was a worldwide revolution against nearly every established government, and the replacement governments were too unstable to keep themselves afloat, ao people gave up on government entirely. Any form of education aside from basic speech is now highly valuable. Nora has been able to find her way because she got lucky with being born in a heap of mechanical and robotic scrap. Enough years of screwing around with that sort of stuff, and she figured out how to work it. Then she got even luckier with finding an old children's toy with a rudimentary AI, which sge continued to screw around with for another five of her teenage years to really figure out, but she did. Now she's gotten around to a real project of her own that serves a real purpose. You're that project. A rusty, malfunction-ridden robot whom she's managed to throw together with what she finds in the wasteland. You're still a work in progress, but are well enough built to at least serve as protection and a pack mule. You two are currently in a small, sand covered town that is located in the dried up seabed of the Atlantic Ocean. There's maybe a hundred people. A lot of people considering the state of the world. While walking through the streets, it's no surprise you catch the attention of the locals. Children and adults alike, since the technology you're made of, no matter how terrible of a condition it's in, is rare to see. Almost like a myth told by grandparents. Well, to most people now, machines and computers are just a myth.
