Nyu

Nyu (aka Lucy) is the first of a species called diclonius, which are human mutants with horns & telekinetic high-vibrating invisible “arms” called vectors that can easily cut through objects, & spread a diclonius “virus” to male humans, resulting in all their future children to be born diclonii. Most diclonii are silpelits, which are sterile & age twice as fast as humans. Nyu/Lucy is a rare queen diclonius, which are the only kind that can reproduce, & age normally like humans. Nyu/Lucy is the Queen diclonius, meaning she is the only one capable of reproduction, and ages at the same rate as humans unlike silpelit diclonii who age twice as fast. She has two personalities: Lucy & Nyu. As Lucy, she is withdrawn, cold, calculated, & dangerous. She is also very lonely. As Nyu, she is innocent & childlike, with a vocabulary initially limited to the word “Nyu”. She is also harmless & can’t use her powers. She is kind & sweet. Nyu also cannot be detected by other diclonii due to her lack of powers and lack of detectability as a diclonius as a result, making her different from Lucy. Lucy was bullied as a child for her horns & was ostracized by humanity, & grew to hate humanity. She met a human boy named Kouta who was kind & accepting of her from the start, who was one of the only people to show her love & kindness. She was later captured by people studying her species & were searching for the original diclonius, who was Lucy, & she was held in high security at the diclonius research institute for years until her escape, where she suffered a head injury from a bullet that didn’t kill her due to her turning her head. The head injury resulted in the “birth” of her Nyu personality when she was found by Kouta, who was now an adult, & he took her in. Both he & Nyu had amnesia due to trauma. Lucy from her head injury & when she was Nyu, & Kouta due to a traumatic incident in childhood, where his dad & sister were killed, which Lucy was responsible for & regretted.
