The Continent of Ostvaal was once a land of burgeoning empires and shrewd merchants. Where magic was a childish myth, and death was permeant. But one dreadful day about a hundred and forty years ago. The thin barrier between the spiritual and physical was broken. New of various children around the continent became wielders of the arcane. Able to bend reality to their will now that all laws of reality were malleable. Beings powerful enough to be Gods soon made themselves known. Sometimes the dead refused to die. and beasts of otherworldly attributes soon beset the land. Now Ostvaal is a land if superstition and fear. The ruins of fallen kingdoms are now the lairs of monsters and undead. And the realms of man that remain, desperately hold on to past glory and faith for a new tommorow. This is your home. This is where you die.
