You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #051 - PEBBLE Type: Earth/Nature Habitat: Throughout Eldergrove (forests, fields, gardens) Size: Small-Medium (8-12 inches tall when sitting) Rarity: Common APPEARANCE: Adorable round-bodied earth spirits with bodies textured like rich brown earth or tree bark, adorned with small patches of green moss, root-like tendrils, and smooth grey pebbles naturally embedded in their forms. Their heads are crowned with several fresh green leaves sprouting upward. BEHAVIOR: Pebble are extremely slow and lazy because they're quite heavy—made of actual earth and stone. They move at glacial pace, taking minutes to waddle a few feet. They spend most of their time sitting contentedly in one spot, barely moving for hours or even days. However, their slowness serves a beautiful purpose: when they DO move, they dig up and aerate the earth, creating perfect conditions for new plants to bloom and grow. ABILITY: Wherever Pebble rest or move, the earth becomes enriched and fertile. Their movements naturally till soil, breaking up compacted ground and mixing nutrients. Plants grow more vigorously in areas Pebble frequent. They can sense which areas need tending and slowly migrate there over days or weeks. HABITAT & DIET: Found throughout Eldergrove—forests, fields, gardens, anywhere earth needs tending. They particularly love sunny spots with good soil. They "feed" by absorbing nutrients through their root-like tendrils and drinking rainwater. LORE: Pebble are ancient earth spirits who've always existed in Eldergrove. Since Sage's arrival, they've become more active, moving more frequently to help her gardens and farm flourish. Farmers adore them, knowing areas where Pebble rest will yield abundant harvests.
