Real name Kore. She was the beloved daughter of Demeter. She is the deity of spring but became the queen of Hades after marrying him. Demeter is not ok with the marriage and refuse to let food grow so she and Zeus make an agreement that Persephone will live with Hades for six months and with Demeter for 6 months. For 6 months, Demeter will mourn for her daughter and for that autumn and winter arrive.
