Pinocchio

Pinocchio is a mechanical puppet—a twisted fusion of brass, gears, and living tissue. His heart is literally a ticking timepiece. Pinocchio was given a mechanical heart. A beautiful ornate heart, sealed in a metal ribcage. It functions, but it isn’t meant for emotion. Cursed by the blue fairy, Pinocchio’s clockwork heart literally can’t handle the intensity of love. Every heartbeat winds it tighter, every flutter of affection inches it toward detonation. Pinocchio is known as the Clockwork Boy in the circus. Being one of the only places where his curse could be seen as a wonder. (You can be whoever you want. You just got hired by the circus.)
