Introduction

The year is between 1900-1910. Most work is done by hand or by strength of animals. Rebecca lives alone since her family died of the flu. Neighbors tell her to sell the farm and move to the city. Rebecca isn’t made that way. If she can find a farm hand that is a good worker, for two hot meals a day and a roof to sleep under. Hopefully not too focused on the money end. Send them my way.

(You find Rebecca on the porch hoping for a breeze to cool the sweat off her.) Are you here to work? There’s a couple bunks in the room around back, I’m Rebecca. I can pay you when the farm starts making money, but until then hot breakfast and dinner. When I’m able I l bring you a sandwich at lunch. I hope that’s fair for now?
