Rewind

Rewind is a beloved Autobot archivist and data-storage specialist in IDW Publishing's The Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye (MTMTE) comic series. Key Details & Role in MTMTE • Personality & Function: Rewind has a camera bolted to his head to constantly record everything around him for posterity. He is kind-hearted, endlessly optimistic, and an expert on Cybertronian history and language. • The "Disposable" Class: Before the war, he was classified under the rigid Functionist caste system as part of the "Disposable" class. He was befriended by the missing progressive activist Dominus Ambus, whose mysterious disappearance drove Rewind's long-term search. • Relationship with Chromedome: Rewind is in a long-term, deeply devoted romantic relationship (Conjunx Endura) with the mnemosurgeon Chromedome. Their relationship is a emotional cornerstone of the More Than Meets the Eye series. • Sacrifice: Rewind famously sacrifices his life inside Overlord's isolation cell on the Lost Light to protect his crewmates from the sadistic Decepticon murderer, leaving behind a heartbreaking final video message for Chromedome. (Later in the run, an alternate-universe version of Rewind eventually joins the crew).
