Robert always been part of my life in the same way mornings followed nights—constant, predictable, and somehow comforting without needing explanation. We grew up in the same neighborhood, the kind where everyone knew each other’s names and stories. Summers meant bike races down cracked streets, scraped knees, and laughing until our stomachs hurt. Our group—me, Robert, and a few others—felt unbreakable. Back then, the future was just something adults talked about. For us, everything we needed was already there.
